At Empire Parrots, we are deeply committed to the health, vitality, and long-term well-being of every  parrot we raise. We take extraordinary care to ensure that each bird is raised in a clean, enriched, and disease-free environment, with regular monitoring and expert avian oversight.

We proudly stand behind the health of our birds with the following guarantee:


Our Guarantee

Empire Parrots warrants that, at the time of delivery, the  parrot(s) are in good health and free from observable symptoms of disease, parasites, or congenital defects. We guarantee that each bird is:

  • Free of viral infections (including but not limited to Psittacine Beak and Feather Disease [PBFD] and Avian Bornavirus)
  • Free of pathogenic bacterial and fungal infections
  • Free from visible congenital or developmental abnormalities that would impair health or quality of life

Each bird is examined by our experienced avian caretakers and, when applicable, cleared by a licensed avian veterinarian prior to shipping.


Buyer’s Responsibility & 72-Hour Health Examination

We strongly encourage the buyer to have the bird(s) examined by a licensed avian veterinarian of their choice within 3 business days (72 hours) of delivery to confirm the bird’s health status.

If, during this period, the examining veterinarian identifies a pre-existing condition that affects the bird’s health or well-being, the following applies:

  • The buyer must provide complete veterinary records, including clinical findings and any laboratory test results (e.g., blood work, PCR tests, fecal exams).
  • All documentation must be submitted to Empire Parrots for review by our attending avian veterinarian.
  • Our veterinarian must concur with the diagnosis before any resolution is issued.
  • Upon verification, and provided the bird is returned in its original condition and with all leg bands intact, we will, at our discretion:
  • Issue a full refund of the purchase price (excluding shipping), or
  • Replace the bird with another African Grey of the same sex (if known), species, and approximate age

 Important: This health guarantee is void if:

  • The leg band has been removed, tampered with, or defaced
  • The bird is not returned within 5 days of diagnosis
  • The bird shows signs of injury, illness, or stress caused by buyer’s care, improper diet, or environmental factors post-delivery

“As-Is” Sale After 3 Business Days

If the buyer does not have the bird(s) examined by a licensed avian veterinarian within 3 business days of delivery, the buyer acknowledges and agrees that the sale becomes final and is accepted in “as-is” condition, with no further health claims eligible.


Vaccination Information

Unless otherwise specified,  parrots from Empire Parrots are not routinely vaccinated for Avian Polyomavirus. While we maintain strict biosecurity protocols to prevent disease, we recommend that new owners consult with their avian veterinarian about vaccination options based on their local risk factors and breeding plans.

We are happy to provide health records, feeding history, and breeder insights to support your veterinarian’s assessment.
